FC Interski Development Centre
The Centre which is run weekly at Leamington Primary School every Thursday night 6pm - 7pm has been back up and running for 6 weeks and is going very well. We have received some very positive feedback from parents and children on how the sessions are run which is very pleasing for myself, Kier & David Gifford along with Tom & Martin who have all worked hard from the restart, all showing excellent commitment. The age range is from school year one, up to year five and six. The key objective of all our sessions is that all boys and girls who attend enjoy themselves, which is reflected in the number who return weekly. There is no discrimination towards ability levels, all are welcome.
Sessions are planned and delivered by FA qualified coaches working towards level 2 and Uefa B certificates, all CRB checked and in possession of Emergency First Aid certificates, to meet the FA guidelines set out in their new coaching modules aimed at Long Term Player Development, covering physical, technical, social and psychological aspects. From year 1's first introduction to football concentrating on ball familiarity and basic ball manipulation skills, agility, balance and co ordination, to the older ones always aiming to finish with 4v4 games to give all players more opportunities on the ball, giving them more chance to develop their skills and techniques.
It is looking very promising that we will be able to introduce a few new teams for next season with the hope of continuing to build on the reputation that has been built up so far as FC Interski over the last eleven years!
